Context & Challenge

GoFund is a modern crowdfunding platform based in the UK, built to support individuals and organizations in raising funds for meaningful causes. As crowdfunding grew in popularity, user expectations for trust, transparency, and convenience became increasingly important.

The challenge lay in addressing two major issues: limited visibility into campaign progress and complex donation flows. Without clarity on how funds were used and with friction in the donation process, users were hesitant to engage consistently and confidently.

Design Thinking Journey

Our goal was to create a platform that would inspire trust while simplifying the donation experience. We began by mapping the user journey to identify key drop-off points and areas where transparency was lacking. Insights from these audits guided our approach to prioritizing clarity and ease of use.

Through iterative design, we introduced features that emphasized both accountability and convenience. A real-time dashboard was developed to show live campaign progress, funds raised, and allocation details, while a new wallet function enabled single-tap donations.

Final Outcome

The redesigned experience gave donors unprecedented visibility into the impact of their contributions. With live updates and transparent reporting, users could easily track campaign results and feel assured about where their money was going.

Meanwhile, the streamlined wallet significantly reduced friction in the donation process. By making contributions quicker and more intuitive, the platform encouraged more frequent and spontaneous engagement from users.

Lesson & Reflection

This project reinforced how transparency and simplicity are vital to building trust in digital fundraising. Donors are more willing to support causes when they can see real impact and contribute with minimal effort.

For me, it was a lesson in the balance between emotional design and functional clarity. By combining accountability with ease of use, we not only improved the user journey but also helped GoFund strengthen its reputation as a trusted crowdfunding platform.
