Context & Challenge

Mcredit, founded in 2016 as a joint venture between MB Bank and SBI Shinsei Bank, aspires to become Vietnam’s most convenient digital financial service provider. After several years of growth, the company’s legacy processes and outdated tools began to limit efficiency and customer experience.

At the same time, the consumer finance market was becoming increasingly competitive. To keep pace with industry leaders, Mcredit identified digital transformation as a key strategic priority to modernize operations and strengthen its market position.

Our vision was to build an integrated digital ecosystem of applications tailored to different user groups: customers, sales agents, and internal staff. This approach ensured every stakeholder could benefit from smoother, faster, and more reliable digital interactions.

The process combined iterative design, usability testing, and close collaboration with product and engineering teams. We also enhanced core technologies such as eKYC, eContract, and Digital Lending, making them both more secure and easier to use.

Final Outcome

The result was a suite of applications that streamlined day-to-day operations and reduced reliance on manual processes. Customers gained access to a seamless, intuitive experience, while staff and agents were empowered with smarter tools to work more effectively.

These improvements directly contributed to Mcredit’s rise in the market: from top 6 in 2020 to top 3 in scale and top 2 in efficiency by 2024. The transformation reinforced its position as one of Vietnam’s most trusted consumer finance companies.

Lesson & Reflection

This project highlighted the importance of designing for both customer experience and organizational efficiency. A true digital transformation requires balancing usability, technology, and business strategy.

For me and my team, it was also a reminder that meaningful design has the power to accelerate growth. By placing people at the center—whether customers or employees—we helped Mcredit move closer to its ambition of becoming a digital-first financial brand.
